Eye / Ocular Impression Procedure using Alginate as the Impression Material.
1. Position the patient in almost reclining position.
2. Attach the head cover cloth.
3. Apply vaseline on the field of operation and adjacent areas.
4. Cover the deep undercut using vaselinized gauze.
5. Paint thinly mixed alginate on the area alternately packing small square gauze to cover the alginate and so on, extending to the other eye for comparison.
6. After 4 layers of alginate – gauze, put thinly mixed paraplaster to 4 mm thick to prevent tear of the alginate.
7. Withdraw the impression and set aside.
8. Get the shade, eye color, and skin color.
9. Measure the area with a caliper. from glabella to inner canthus, form glabella to outer canthus, from the inner canthus to the pupil.
