Impression of the Eye with Rubber Impression.

Materials

Dentsply Aquasil Automix Light Body Polyvinyl siloxane Impression Material
Dentsply Aquasil Heavy Body Polyvinyl siloxane Impression Material
Visible Light Curing Box
1 wafer Dentsply Visible Light Cured resin tray material
Boxing wax
Plaster of Paris
Type IV Die Stone

Procedure

1. Vaseline is applied on the eyelashes and eyebrows.
2. 1 scoop base and 1 scoop activator of the Dentsply Aquasil Heavy Body Polyvinyl siloxane Impression Material is hand mixed and formed into ball to be used for the preliminary impression.
3. The preliminary impression material is seated into the defect area and allowed to set.
4. Withdraw the preliminary impression.
5. Pour the impression with plaster of paris.
6. Using the outlined preliminary cast, the wafer (Dentsply Visible Light Cured resin tray material) is formed to cover the defect area. The handle and perforations for retention are formed.
7. The VLC is cured under VLC curing box for 45 seonds for each side.
8. The tray produced is used for the final impression of the defect.
9. Using the automix device, light body rubber impression is dispensed on the defect area.
10. Light body is also dispensed on the tray.
11. Seat the impression the tray on the defect with the light body impression to combine the 2 materials.
12. Apply minimal pressure.
13. Let the impression set.
14. Instruct the patient to move his eye muscle left and right and gently remove the impression.
15. Box the impression with boxing wax.
16. Pour the impression with die stone type IV.
17. Withdraw the model after 45 minutes.
